Lan Xue
Executive vice president of the Development Research Academy for the 21st Century and director of China Institute for Science and Technology Policy at Tsinghua University

Lan Xue, a professor in the School of Public Policy and Management, is the executive vice president of the Development Research Academy for the 21st Century and director of China Institute for Science and Technology Policy at Tsinghua University. His teaching and research interests include science and technology policy, higher education policy, and crisis management.

Trained as an engineer, Xue holds a Ph.D. in engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University and taught at the George Washington University before returning to Tsinghua University in 1996. His public services include vice president of China Association of Public Administration and the Chinese Association of Science of Science and S&T Policy, as well as vice chairman of the National Steering Committee for MPA Education.

Xue is also a member of the Visiting Committee for Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a member of the Board of Governors of International Development Research Center.
